The Best Summer Ever!!

This summer has truly been the best ever!! It started out a little rocky. I wasn't sure how it would be to move in with my parents but they have been awesome. It was also a little tough starting Legacy. That's our business, yes we are now entrepreneurs! haha We take old photos and family videos and digitize them. Getting everything set up was quite the stressful task. It ended up being perfect though! It enabled us to have the freedom to do so many awesome things!

We kicked off the summer with a trip to Mesa, Vegas and Newport Beach. Mesa was so fun! We stayed with my sister, Autumn and her family. It was the first time that I got to see her new house. It was so cute. I absolutely love it! We got to hang out with my nephews who have definitely entered the stage of girls have coodies evidenced by their excitement and fuss over Uncle Larry and complete disregard of Aunt Kendall! I'm only kidding, it wasn't that bad! They are so cute! We were their during the NBA playoffs and it was histarical to watch them. They know everything about basketball... it is quite impressive! Vegas was fun as always. We stayed with Larry's brother Luke and his wife Emmy. Larry played video games with his friends for about 3 days straight while I soaked up the sun poolside and walked the mall! My idea of perfect! haha We then took off to Newport Beach to celebrate our birthdays. We did the O.C. tour, saw Prince of Persia and ate at, of course, Cheesecake Factory! Larry surprised me with a pink nintendo DS. I am obsessed with it!! We then made our way back up the coast to Walnut Creek.

We've been to the beach 3 times and are planning a few more trips! Once to capitola with my parents. Once to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (where we enjoyed deep fried twinkies!) And lastly with Larry's friend Chelsie who can to stay with us (which was so fun, I love that girl!!)
We've had a blast in this warm weather. It must be frog season or something because we found about 30 little frogs and brought them back to the pond in my parents backyard. We've also been enjoying bike rides and long walks on the trail. haha We also camped out in the backyard one night and made s'mores using the BBQ. (This was upon realizing that to camp in this part of california costs $30!! I refuse to pay to sleep outside with no bathroom! haha)

Larry had never been to a professional baseball game before and his favorite team is the Boston Red Sox. So when we found out they'd be playing the Oakland A's we decided we had to go. I do feel like a bit of a traitor since all through high school I was a die hard A's fan but what can you do?! haha

Last week we went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom with my sister Madi. It was so fun! The lines were short and the rides were awesome! I also loved all the animals! We saw the tiger show, the killer whale show and a giant walrus!

I always knew Larry loved soccer. However, I didn't know how much until the world cup. There is very little that would get me up before 10 o'clock AM. Larry woke up for every single 7 AM game! It was amazing! haha We were so excited that Spain won because we got to see some of the world cup champions on their club team Real Madrid. They were playing a Mexican team at Candlestick Park, random I know, but Awesome for us!! We witnessed (my secret lover) Christiano Ronaldo score the game winning goal off a free kick!

I Feel Great!

So I woke up this morning and did as I do every morning... Step on the scale! However, this morning was different, in a good Weigh!! haha For the first time in 5 years (since April of my senior year of high school) I weighed 125 pounds! This means I have lost a total of 20 pounds!! Woohoo!

Not only have I lost this weight but this is the longest period of time that I have kept it off. I hit 130 in December... that means I've been under 130 for 4 MONTHS! Anyone who diets knows that this is a substantial amount of time! I cannot even count the amount of times that I got to 135 pounds and gained 10 pounds back. If I had to guess it would be about 7!

Anyone who diets also knows that however much weight you've lost, you always want to loose more! Well this time I am trying very hard to love where I am and soak it up!! However, I would love to see what I would look like at 115! So The next goal is to break into the teens!

My newest celebrity obsession is Kim Kardashian. And According to google she is exactly my height (5'2.5") and 120 lbs. Our weight is obviously distributed differently (I have no booty and thunder thighs, Thank you Mom and Dad for that haha) This is all very exciting though!! I have revamped my style and I feel great!

San Francisco

When Larry and I decided to apply for this internship, there was no doubt in my mind that we would not be sent to San Francisco. After all, this is were I grew up and they knew that! We were thinking St. Thomas or Puerto Rico. I might never know why Del Sol decided to send us here, however, we are making the most of it. It is amazing to have my family near by. I have decided that I am not quite cut out for city life so it is nice to escape to Walnut Creek every once in a while. We've been here for almost 2 months and I can now say I am a pro at the public transportation system. Although it is getting a little old, it is fun to say that I've done the city thing. I am very grateful to not have snow but this rain has got to go! I need sun shine, not fog and gloom! The weather is starting to improve and our spirits are lifting! San Francisco can be very beautiful! Plus you can't beat the shopping... it is Amazing! Which might not be a good thing for this shopaholic!

Since arriving, we have eaten at numorous incredible restuarants at a discount price because we are Pier 39 employees which is really sweet. We've both realized our love for crab cakes and I will attempt to make them this week! We've gone to the aquarium, union square and saw Wicked! It was amazing! I loved every moment! I just can't beleive that they were singing like that right there in front of me! It was fantastic! We are still planning a trip to sacilito, a climb up coit tower and a bike ride across the bridge. We're just waiting for the weather to improve. Also for Valentine's day, Larry got his much desired XBOX 360 (which I got for a steal on craigslist!). He also took a trip to Miami with a friend last week.

Also, I just wanted to mention that we would love visitors! If any of you want to come visit San Fran, we have plenty of room to set up an air mattress!

A Life Changing Moment

Larry and I were witnesses to a suicide in San Francisco yesterday. As we sat to eat our lunch by the window with a beautiful view of the city we saw a man standing out of a window on the 4th floor of the building in front of our view. At first we thought it was for a movie because we'd seen a movie crew up the street. Then I thought it was some wise guy trying to get attention. A prank. A joke. The man couldn't have been more than 25 with longer dark hair wearing only a blue pair of underwear. I thought, no way that cute guy is really thinking about ending his life. It was unimaginable to me. So I watched and Larry and I joked because in my mind it was just a silly prank. The crowd grew larger and the police arrived. I started to get a bad feeling but still couldn't imagine that this stranger would jump. Although this man is a stranger I feel like I experienced something monumental with him. I find myself longing to know his name, his story. Wanting to help, however late it may be. He stood there for about 10-15 minutes, while we sat and ate our burgers. I know I shouldn't feel guilt but I cannot help it. I know there is nothing I could have done. The crowd reacted to the jump and I quickly turned my head to look. How I wish I hadn't! It only took a second for my head to whip back and the tears to start to flow. It was so shocking and surreal at the same time. Most people responded as I did. But many, I think unable to place their emotion in that moment covered it with laughs and cheers. It was so confusing but I just think some things take a while for the brain to process. My body was shaking and for the past day I have not been able to let go of the horrific image.

I decided to write about it as a sort of therapy. I can tell it has started to help already. I am so blessed. There are some who have such unimaginable hardships. My biggest trial is having to wear a hideous red polo to work everyday. I have an amazing family and had a fantastic childhood. And most importantly, I have the gospel. I know my savior and feel his love for me everyday. I know that this life is a probationary state and that true happiness comes from righteousness. If only this man had known what I have known my whole life. If only he had known that our savior loves him just as he loves me his life could have been so different. Everyone always says that people who die are in a better place. I have often thought that for people who commit suicide, how could it be better because they will have to face judgement for that choice. However, I don't know of that mans pain but our savior does and he will be judged fairly. I do know that because my life has been so blessed, I will be held to a much higher level than others. I think I am a good person but I know I can be better in so many ways. Through this experience I am determined to learn and grow. To really see with an eternal perspective when faced with petty conflicts. To be very slow to judge the choices of others. To show more love, more compassion.
